Play Therapy

Are you concerned about your child’s developmental and mental health? As a parent, you naturally want the best for your child, so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to seek our professional help at A Vision of Self. After all, we offer many forms of therapy and one of them is Play Therapy. Essentially, Play Therapy is a form of therapy designed for children. Through conversation, different activities, and play, our therapist will help your child explore different life events that could have impacted their current circumstances. At A Vision of Self, we aim to help children express and communicate repressed emotions and thoughts and possibly delve into some unresolved trauma. We use toys and other materials such as art materials, dolls, clay, puppets, and other tools. We allow your child to use these materials while we carefully observe them and interpret what they produce afterward.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

A Vision of Self offers Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). The basic premise of this therapy is that behavior (how we act), cognition (how we think), and emotion (how we feel) are all interrelated. CBT is provided on the principle that an individual’s thoughts determine their behavior and feelings. With our CBT service, we aim to help you identify and modify negative behaviors, emotions, and thoughts that can lead you to destructive behaviors. Once these negative thoughts have been identified, we teach you to challenge this distorted cognition. From there, we can help you develop alternative ways of behaving and thinking. Through this, we aim to help reduce your psychological concerns and distress.
